Reception tip?

We sat together without a bridal table so we could have dinner and listen to the speeches together. We both felt it was really important to make sure we made time to enjoy the day together. We organised our bridal party to sit together beside their partners so everyone felt included.

Notes from the lovers

Any planning suprises?

I actually had a different type of planning surprise, my now husband Steven took on the role of my Wedding Planner. He said “describe your idea of a perfect wedding and I’ll make it happen” and he did! My idea for us was something very tranquil, in nature with festoon lighting and a reception under the stars and he managed to check all the boxes.

We both work in the wine industry and as a wedding gift he surprised me with a champagne fountain which was a lot of fun on the night.

If I can offer any advice it would be to work together. Our wedding along with many others was unpredictable as we were trying to navigate a pandemic so it worked in my favour to have such a

supportive partner.

What did you love most about the rocks, Yandina?

The Rocks was actually the only venue that we saw, for us it was the perfect fit. The Rocks is incredibly peaceful and serene we wanted our guests to disconnect so it was important to us to have the ceremony and the reception at the one venue.

The Rocks offers multiple places on their 80 acre land to have your ceremony and reception both indoor and outdoor.

John was assigned as our wedding coordinator. There is not enough space in this article to articulate how incredible John was there was no question to big or too small, John would follow everything up with “we can do that”. The staff on the night felt like guests, everyone was mingling and they were incredibly attentive.

Must haves for the day?

For us the most important thing was having all of our friends and family together, we had a private dinner the night before and had a lot of our guests staying at the same resort as us.

We had so much fun surprising our guests with a three course banquet dinner under the stars.

Tell us about your wedding style and the vendors that helped bring it all together!

Our overall styling was simple and elegant. The decor for our wedding was a mixture of white flowers and greenery. My bouquets in particular were really special, I sent an inspirational picture to our florist Samia and she organised Playa Blanca Roses to be imported from Cuba, I found out on the day!

My hair and makeup artist Valentina was wonderfully talented, she did an amazing job alongside her assistant with our hair and makeup on the day, they made us feel so confident.

I consider myself really lucky, I did have an idea of the type of wedding dress that I’d hoped for, I still tried on all the different styles but I found myself gravitating back to the first dress that I tried on. The bridesmaid dresses were bought on a whim on the same day; it was certainly a successful and unexpected shopping trip. I’m very happy with how everything came together on the day, gold shoes and all.
