If you feel aligned with a vendor and they are available, then book them in- you will have more vendors to book then you realise and may have to contact several just to find someone available
Notes from the lovers
How would you describe your wedding style?
We always wanted a classic, semi formal, romantic style. I wanted to look at
our photos in 30 years and still love them! Clovelly provided such a beautiful
backdrop so keeping our styling minimal was easy
I knew a mantilla veil was something I wanted as soon as I started the dress
process. Amplifying outfits with makeup and subtle accessories is something I
do normally, so I’m not surprised this was what I was drawn too!
I was very independent in my dress finding process, my Mum & I went to 2 or 3
boutiques together and saw some beautiful gowns but none of them would
make slight variations to their designs so I took myself to Ella Moda and the
rest is history! They were so flexible and brought me in for monthly fittings as
they made the dress (and veil) on site. This meant I didn’t have to have any
alterations to my gown after I collected it and had more control over the

top tips and Must have's for the day?
- Help. Let loved ones help you make things run a smoothly as possible!
- Your vendors! You don’t realise just how much they will do without your assistance until you have 10 of them seamlessly running around your venue like wedding fairies. It all just happens and the more trust you have in them, the better
- We tried to do as much styling ourselves as we could, this was made possible by our venue &
florist! Make sure you ask about this before booking a venue & you know what/who will or won’t be
available to you on the day
- Remember that this day is about you. It’s easy to get wrapped up in making
everyone else’s day a wonderful time, but ultimately, if you’re happy and put
lots of love & authenticity into the planning then everyone else will feel that!
What did you love about your spicers clovelly wedding
We chose to have a Spicers clovelly wedding because first and foremost they were an accommodation venue, with such a beautiful European vibe. This meant for us that there
wouldn’t be another wedding the day before or after ours on the estate & gave
us more privacy/the opportunity to experience the venue outside of having our
We had actually always thought we would have an urban wedding to keep
things simple, but when we realised how many guests would be travelling
regardless, we decided a wedding weekend would be perfect!
Tom & I went up a couple of days prior to the big day to have some downtime
together before everyone arrived, which is something I would 100%
recommend. Planning a wedding is no small feat in a pandemic!
a funny moment from the day?
We purposely put an arrival time for the ceremony that was 30
mins early to the start time to mitigate our chances of any late arrivals. As I
was just about to walk down the aisle, holding onto my dads arm for dear life,
a whole group of boys were wading through the bushes trying to make an
inconspicuous and very late entry. It made us all laugh so much that it broke
the nerves and was just a funny and quirky part of the day! You can’t plan
EVERYTHING, just roll with it, the most important person will be looking
straight at you anyway!
