What did you love most about spicers clovelly estate?

The service from the staff is second to none! They checked up on me and my bridal party all day to make sure we didn't need anything. They brought us lunch without us asking for it. They went over and beyond and planned the timing of the day and worked with all of the suppliers for me. It really took the stress out of organising the day. Great venue for anyone who doesn't use a wedding planner - they do so much for you. Plus the venue itself is so beautiful. Particularly in spring when all the flowers are blooming.

How did you find the planning process?

I found the planning process fast because I had been planning it in my mind for years before we got engaged. The best advice I can give is to decide and book everything as soon as possible. Venues and suppliers get booked out really fast, months and sometimes years in advance. Also, it takes a long time for brides' dresses and suits to be made (ours took 6 months) so make sure you find those quickly too.

Tell us about your wedding style

I love olive green so I knew the bridesmaids dresses were always going to be that colour. We got so many comments from guests about the bridesmaids dresses, they loved them. We have a very simplistic and elegant taste, so we went with a very neutral / classy colour palette and found inspiration via instagram and pinterest that embodied that colour pallete to give us some ideas. From there it was just a matter of finding the right dresses, suits and flowers that were in line with our colour palette.  My partner has dark features so cream / white and dark brown shoes worked so well for him. I found my dress by scrolling through a million dresses online. The one I picked was the only one which I liked online. I tried it on along with others and it was the only one that suited me. When you know, you know right? Again, less is more so I went with plain white and left the lace details to the sleeves and veil.

Most important suppliers and advice for other couples?

It was really important for us to have a vibrant and fun celebrant as we didn't want our ceremony to be stiff and formal. We wanted our ceremony to have a lot of humour and leave everyone with that loving feeling. Luckily our celebrant (who was also our MC) gave us that. We laughed throughout the entire ceremony. So many guests commented on it being the best wedding they'd ever attended and we think that was partly due to our celebrant / MC.

Our photographer was fantastic too - she made everything very natural and relaxed and her photography was exactly the style and look that I love - light and bright. I use Jennifer for my business too.

The guests also commented on having lawn games during the garden party which was fun. We had my brother sing at the reception too which guests loved.

Also, having a venue which can host the ceremony, reception and accomodation was so convenient. It also allowed us and most of our guests to stay on site as well so we could party into the night.
