Notes from the lovers

01.

Did you always want to elope?

Tristan and I always thought we were going to have a big extravagant wedding where we would have our family and friends around us to celebrate. After going through some personal challenges in 2020 we decided a secret elopement was the way we wanted to celebrate our love and commitment for one another. It was beyond special!

Would you recommend eloping to other couples?

Absolutely, it was so special. Having our children so close whilst we exchanged our vows was exactly what we imagined. We loved that we were in charge of our day and how it ran. We weren’t  restricted to a tight schedule nor did we have to worry about everyone back at a reception.

03.

What did you do after your ceremony?

After our ceremony we shared a few glasses of Mumm before heading off with Emily our photographer. There are so many amazing spots around point Cartwright for photos, especially as the sun is setting. Pier 33 was our choice of location for dinner. It is such a stunning location and also the photo opportunities around pier 33 were endless, Emily was kind enough to follow us there to grab a few extra shots. Looking back on our evening I wouldn’t change a thing, it was exactly what we wanted.

04.

Stand out moment?

We are lucky enough to have two beautiful children. When they were born we decided they would take my last name until we were married. Just before our elopement we told them both that we would all take Tristans last name. On our wedding day as our second witness signed the certificate Bella burst into tears hugging Tristan,  “I’m now a Carrigan” she cried. We all burst into laughter as our photographer Emily captured this beautiful shot of Tristan comforting Bella. Here we were thinking she was crying tears of happiness
