Taria & Pete
Length of engagement
Words of advice?
It’s one of the biggest days of your life but it is just a day so don’t stress over the small
things, as long as you have good food, drinks and music than everyone should be happy!
Notes from the lovers
Did you always want to get married on a property?
Our ceremony was held at Pete’s parents farm, our plan was to buy our own property and
get married there but it didn’t happen in time so we decided to incorporate both of our
families and have the ceremony at Pete’s families property and the reception at my parents
property. The venues were definitely the highlight of our wedding for us, it was so nice to get
married on our families places and we had always planned to get married on a private
property so we didn’t have to worry about any restrictions or the venue closing, so 3am it was!! Haha

Tell us about the weather, the rain but also the sunset!
We were so lucky with how the whole day turned out with the weather. It was overcast
and raining in the morning I think but cleared up in the afternoon, our ceremony was at
3pm at Bellwood. We were so lucky we arrived [on time] because if we had waited another 5
minutes all of our guests would have got absolutely drenched as straight after
Bernadette (celebrant) said you may now kiss the bride we walked down the aisle and it
started raining with the heaviest rain we had seen all year,
then after the storm come through and as the bridal party arrived at the reception held at
my parents place the sky literally lit up. It was all misty and the sun setting over the mist was
amazing, Talitha and the other photographers/videographers were loving it! You will see
some of the photos of what I’m talking about. All of the guests saw it too and said they had
never seen anything like it before
Must have's for the day?
- Nice umbrellas for photos (lucky my Mum organised this) I never thought about this but
when it come to it we definitely needed them and it was so nice having umbrellas which
looked nice in the photos
- Make sure you have nibbles & drinks organised for the bridal party if you’re going away
- Have a second option if it rains and your ceremony / reception is outside, luckily we
didn’t need to because the rain come after but I definitely wasn’t prepared if it did at the
top tips you'd love other couples to know!
Don’t stress too much, as much as you want it to be perfect you can’t plan everything
that’s going to happen so if it rains, it rains!
It’s your day so do what’s right for you and
your partner and not what others tell you to do. Its good to get ideas and help but if you
truly want something then do it!!
Would highly recommend going on a honeymoon straight after your wedding, it was so
nice to go away after we got married and just soak up married life. It wouldn’t have been
the same if we went a year later
