Styling tip

I wanted the people to be the real decorations, so for the reception I just did some candles on the tables and let them light our guests up.

Notes from the lovers

What approach did you take in your wedding styling?

I just wanted everything to be so simple. No DIY at all. I've worked in weddings for about 6 years and my least favourite thing I see a bride doing is staying up until 3am the night before her wedding finishing something. My main goal was stress-free.

Tell us about your unique florals!

My flowers were the best! Dried Hydrangeas from everbloome in Melbourne. Another stress free thing. Firstly, I love dried flowers because they never die and you can keep them forever (they are in a vase in my bedroom right now good as new!) and secondly, I wanted a big, dramatic bouquet and the hydrangeas were so fluffy and dramatic, they achieved this look with no effort at all!

What is one take away from the day you'd love to tell other couples?

A million people told us to just be present and really take a moment because the day goes so fast. But I honestly can't remember a thing even after trying to intentionally do this. So my advice might be to definitely get a videographer (milk and honey creative are the best) because as soon as I got that video back, memories started flooding back!

Favourite part of the day?

I think my favourite bit was when the ceremony was over and we were announced as husband and wife. It felt like I had been waiting for that moment for so long and for it to finally be a reality was THE BEST! And My husband on any dance floor is a standout moment. But he really put on the moves at our wedding. Its one of my favourite things ever when he dances!
