Must have's for the day ?

I really believe taking the quiet moment with your brand new husband/ wife, just the two of

you and to say “we did it!” Is one of the most special memories I’ll always hold close. It’s such a surreal feeling , like you are starting a brand new life together!

Notes from the lovers

When did you know your partner was the one ?

We met each other when we were 16 years old , we always had a little ‘spark’ and crush (haha) but the timing wasn't quite right until we started dating in our early 20’s! It is our seventh year together this year! The rest is history. We have been Inseparable ever since! But yes, love at first site even if we didn’t realise when we were 16!

How did covid change your wedding plans ?

Our wedding style changed quite dramatically alongside this crazy year! We began with a very simple, elegant style planning our wedding at Maleny Manor on the Sunshine Coast! My first wedding dress was more of a silk slip style. We planned to have a dreamy whimsical feel In the hinterland mountains!

Once Covid hit we decided we wanted to still keep our wedding date and change everything to an elopement style wedding! We wanted it to be simple, fun and chic. We really wanted to focus the day on fun, laughter and that not even a pandemic can stop us! We wanted to celebrate with those closest to us and make the day one we would hold close to our hearts forever.

tell us about your venue !

The Calile is so aesthetically pleasing to look at! You really don’t need to add a thing! The soft tones of the building and reception area really helped to create a feel of warmth and fun in our photos. We loved it! The entire day was so easy and seamless! It was just perfect for what we were looking for! I love the modern feel to our wedding and photos. Being an elopement it really gave it that extra something special.

What did you do instead of a formal reception ?

After our photos, we had lunch at hellenika! It was wonderful, we all shared a banquet of delicious Greek food with our family. It felt really wholesome and just like “us”. We then went back to our private rooftop space where we invited some of our closest friends to join us ( covid ruling permitting haha). There were Grazing platters for the evening, the constant flow of champagne , speeches and dancing and it was filled with pure happiness!
