About Tay & Francis...
Do you remember your very first gig ?
When did your interest/passion become your business?
My very first solo wedding was a friend of my cousins. It's one I'll never forget and to this day I'm still in touch with the couple. I've seen and photographed their growing family since and it's an absolute dream.
From a very young age I was always running around with a camera, filming little vlogs and photographing small details amongst nature. When I left High school I started working at the wedding venue, Maleny Manor. I worked there for 5 years, doing everything from styling, front of house and coordination. On my first wedding showcase I remember absolutely falling in love with the excitement all couples brought to the day. I then kind of got the idea to combine both of my passions and photograph love.
A standout part of the job ?
Meeting awesome new people! Making a friend of every client is pretty great.
Essentially I want to love what I'm doing for the rest of my life. My job is my passion and I would be extremely satisfied if it remained that way forever.
If you were a drink, what would you be?
Wine. Not a top-shelf wine though, one from the middle shelf haha
if you had a whole week free, where would we find you ?
Probably immersed in water in a beautiful location
hinterland or sea?
japan. There's a beautiful contrast between locations. From the city scapes to the rugged country, you really would get to experience it all. Also the food.
What's one bit of advice you'd give couples beginning
their planning journey?
Get that date locked in and go from there. It can be such a daunting process, but you can also make it so much fun. As long as you hire/work along side suppliers and vendors that you trust and can have fun with, you're going to have an awesome time planning.
